Sailing Holidays
Over the years we’ve had dozens of clients incorporating a sailing trip into their itineraries – and personally, we can’t get enough of it! Whether you’re a qualified skipper looking to test your skills and venture out on your own, or simply relax on deck with a cocktail in hand watching the sunset as a crew guides you into the next port, we can advise you on the best destination to get what you want out of a holiday. Beloware six of our favourites:
Flotilla Holidays in Europe: take a cruise around the Gulf of Fethiye in a Turkish gulet, a traditional wooden sailing boat in which to explore idyllic blue bays, board a traditional wooden caique in Greece in which to seek out fishing villages, temples and quiet inlets in the Aegean Islands or take in the best of the Dalmatian Islands in Croatia on a luxury, family-owned boat – getting your feet on deck and the wind in the sails might just be the perfect Mediterranean getaway.
Bareboat sailing in the Seychelles gives you the freedom and flexibility to take over the running of your own yacht, exploring hundreds of tiny islands where barely another person has set foot. Flawless weather nearly all year round, exquisite marine life, and impossibly warm, turquoise waters, the Seychelles are the perfect destination for a sailing holiday.
South Pacific sailboat holidays in Tahiti and Fiji: Tahiti is a lush oasis, amidst 117 islands speckled across the South Pacific – a paradise for enthusiastic sailors. You’ll see ancient volcanoes, immaculate coral reefs where dolphins frolic among countless colourful fish and black pearls being cultivated. In Fiji there is ample opportunity for snorkelling, fishing, or simply gliding effortlessly over aquamarine waters sipping cool watermelon cocktails with the enticing scent of vanilla plants rising from the island itself.
Mauritius: this Indian Ocean island is a haven for water sports, where most resorts boast world class sailing facilities. The lagoons around the island are exception locations for first time learners, whether children or adults, and organising group or individual lessons is easy. We regularly send clients to resorts offering complimentary use of equipment (of the highest standard), and where you can rent a boat to yourself for the morning – not to mention try out kayaking, water skiing, snorkelling or diving!
The Galapagos Islands: some of the most unique and isolated islands on the planet, the Galapagos are the perfect destination for getting the sea breeze in your hair and the salt on your skin. You’ll see dolphins playing in the water beside your boat, navigate into beautiful wind-swept lagoons and sail in the wake of historical pirates who used to shelter in Buccaneer Cove. Using the boat as your base, you can explore all the fabulous wildlife on the islands themselves – from blue footed boobies to giant turtles and pink flamingos.
Interisland hopping in the Caribbean: this beautiful region boasts some of the best yacht charter locations in the world, from Belize to the Bahamas. New sailors and skilled skippers alike will find something for them, whether an adrenaline rush in open water on a windy day, or a quiet meander around a coastline in the evening sun. With a rum cocktail in hand and the horizon in sight, your worries are guaranteed to melt away in minutes.
