Thirty years on – we have remained a small, private, and above all independent travel company. Proud of the relationship we have built up with clients over the years, we are delighted that the vast majority of our clients are repeat travellers. We have never advertised, the majority of clients having reached us through personal recommendation.

I set up Nomadic Thoughts in January 1988 with the sole idea of sending people to my favourite worldwide destinations. Three decades years later I am extremely proud to have so many memories of successful client holidays, in addition to picking up a variety of Travel Awards along the way.

Before setting up Nomadic Thoughts – having left school aged 17 – I spent seven years travelling across the globe, working my way around Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania. In addition to travelling tens of thousands of miles by whatever means available, I financed myself working in a variety of establishments across five countries. Along the way I realised that the excitement of embracing and sharing the knowledge I had about so many global destinations was to be my main raison d’etre.

Since then our passion for all things travel has been consistent throughout Nomadic Thoughts’ history. To this day the initial start-up emphasis on ‘giving people a good time’, has never altered.  To put it simply, we love travel, and take huge satisfaction in sharing that love with others. Caroline Findlay de Concha, my most longstanding Nomadic Thoughts colleague, sums it up when she says, “I am as excited about embarking on a trip today as I was the first time I planned an escape to the other side of the world”.
