CUSTOMERS ABROAD

ATOL holders selling air-inclusive packages and Flight-Plus are responsible for the provision of alternative transportation back to the UK for their customers abroad. However, given the scale of the failure, the UK Government has requested that the CAA arranges replacement flights for all Monarch Airlines customers due to return to the UK on flights departing overseas airports on or before 15 October 2017.

Holidays will not be cut short and customers will not need to return home early. Further information and details of replacement flights will be published on the dedicated website monarch.caa.co.uk. This is a major operation with 110,000 customers abroad and there may therefore be some delays while we make the necessary arrangements.

ATOL holders, must retain responsibility for customers’ welfare prior to their return to the UK. This may include the provision of food, drink and accommodation.

Repatriation flights from 16 October

If travellers are due to return to the UK on flights departing overseas airports on 16 October 2017 or later, then the tour operator (ATOL holder) must find a replacement flight for them.

CUSTOMERS YET TO TRAVEL

All future flights and holidays with the Monarch group are cancelled. Customers are advised not to go to the airport as they will not be able to travel. Where a passenger has been sold an ATOL protected trip – with included Monarch Airlines flights as part of a package or Flight-Plus – they will be provided with suitable replacements or, if this is not possible, they will be offered a full refund for the entire booking.
