Long-haul flights prices significantly down
Good news this week – according to Skyscanner, long-haul airfares have dropped, in some cases by almost a fifth.
Although, as ever, the time of booking (ideally between 13 to 29 weeks before departure) and the travel date are hugely relevant, the exciting news is that on average, long-haul prices have dropped by 7% in the last 12 months.
Vancouver is the overall winner with an 18% fare reduction, with Economy prices dropping £126 to £ 576.
Other significant destinations are Boston (13%), Hong Kong (12%) and Bali, Orlando, Shanghai, Auckland, Havana, Toronto and Perth, all down 10%. In addition Sydney and Las Vegas are down 9%.
In our experience, when booking fares far enough in advance, juggling departure dates as well as individual airports can make a significant difference too.
